A 45-year-old Lawrence man told police that another man speeding through a residential neighborhood tried to hit him with his car.

The man said that about 7:30 a.m. Friday he saw a car speeding down the 1200 block of Lawrence Avenue. When the man tried to get the vehicle to slow down, the car reportedly swerved. Police said it appears the car did not, at first, try to hit the man.

Then, the man reported, the driver turned his car around and sped toward him. The man was not injured.

Another male passenger was allegedly in the car at the time.
