Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police on Monday night before 11 p.m. were investigating damage to property at 1142 Ind., Sgt. Damon Thomas said. The two-story home is among the buildings that would be demolished to make way for the construction of a new hotel. Thomas said neighbors apparently entered the house and caused damage to both the interior and exterior, perhaps with a bat. Thomas said a toilet, sink and windows were among the things beat up. No further information was available.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A Macintosh Powerbook laptop computer was taken from a vehicle between Friday and Sunday, a 28-year-old Lawrence man reported to Lawrence police. It was not known specifically where the theft occurred. The computer was valued at $2,500.

¢ Someone broke into a residence in the 1000 block of Oak Tree Drive and took several items, including golf club sets and a GPS device, valued at a total of $1,500. A 54-year-old Lawrence man said the thefts took place between Dec. 5 and Dec. 7.

Injury accidents

¢ A Perry woman was injured Monday on Interstate 70 near Lawrence and flown to a Kansas City area hospital, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report.

About 2 a.m., Dawn R. Miller, 27, lost control of her 1990 Honda, which struck a wall in the westbound lanes between the East and West Lawrence exits. She was wearing a seat belt.

According to the report, her injuries did not incapacitate her, but she was flown via helicopter ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. No information about her condition was available.
