Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police arrested a 20-year-old Lawrence man early Saturday on several charges. According to Sgt. Michael Monroe, the suspect got into the car of a 20-year-old woman in The Pool Room parking lot, 925 La. He demanded a ride and threatened the woman with a gun, Monroe said. She refused and he struck her in the face. She was able to get out of the vehicle, Monroe said. An officer nearby heard her screaming. The suspect tried to flee on foot and was apprehended by the officer, Monroe said. The suspect was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping and interference with duties of a police officer.

The woman was treated for injuries on the scene but didn’t go to the hospital.
