Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 26-year-old Lawrence woman reported an auto burglary and theft to Lawrence police on Friday. A BlackBerry cell phone and 56 miscellaneous items were stolen from a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier that was reported damaged. The total estimated loss is $1,350. The crime occurred in the parking lot of Riverfront Plaza between 11:15 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday.

¢A 24-year-old Lawrence man reported a cargo truck was criminally damaged in the 1000 block of Massachusetts between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a Lawrence police report. The estimated value of damage was $1,000.

¢ The Kansas University Public Safety Office reported a bicycle theft on Wednesday. The bicycle reportedly worth $4,000, was locked to a bike rack outside of Eaton Hall. The lock was cut and the bike was removed from the area. The crime occurred between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Injury accidents

¢ A 47-year-old man from Garland, Texas, was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Thursday morning after a two-vehicle accident occurred on the Kansas Turnpike. Paulo L. Silva was driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck eastbound in the middle lane of Interstate 70 near mile marker 191. Silva passed a 1996 semitrailer in the right lane, lost control and spun out into the truck, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report. Silva was treated and released from the hospital.
