Overland Park ? Lawrence High advanced to the championship game of the Aquinas girls basketball tournament with a 64-60 victory over Bellevue (Neb.) West on Friday night.

The Lions (3-0) will play host Aquinas for the title at 6:15 tonight.

“We really struggled,” LHS coach Kristin Mallory said. “I think everybody who played missed a layup at one point in time. We got frustrated. Finally in the fourth quarter, the defensive effort picked it up for us. We got some steals for layups.”

Kassie Potter scored 21 points to lead the Lions. Haley Parker added 13 points, and Jasmyn Turner scored 12.
