Professor to receive award for cancer work
Pittsburg State University is recognizing an alumnus for his work to bring a National Cancer Institute designation to Kansas University.
Dr. Roy Jensen is the director of the KU Cancer Center and a professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at KU Medical Center. Jensen earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Pittsburg State in 1980 before earning his doctor of medicine at Vanderbilt in 1984.
Jensen will be presented with the Meritorious Achievement Award during commencement Dec. 14. It will be presented by the PSU Alumni Association based on career achievements.
