Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A five-piece silver dinner setting and silver serving utensils valued about $15,000 were reported stolen Friday from a residence in the 1500 block of Alvamar Drive. The incident occurred between Aug. 30 and Thursday. The incident was reported by the woman who lives at the residence.

¢ A 19-year-old Lawrence woman on Sunday reported the theft of a white 1997 Mercury Mountaineer valued at $6,000. The incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street.

¢ A 60-year-old De Soto man on Saturday reported $1,000 in criminal damage to the windshield and side mirror of a 2004 Nissan Titan. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street.

¢ A 49-year-old Lawrence man on Sunday reported the theft of a 20-ton Yard Machine black log splitter valued at $1,200. The incident occurred between Nov. 25 and Sunday in the 1300 block of Rhode Island Street.

Injury accidents

¢ An 18-year-old Lawrence woman was transported to Kansas University Medical Center on Sunday following a single-automobile accident on Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County. Cassandra Lu, 19, of Kearney, Mo., was driving a 1999 Toyota 4Runner westbound near Fairfax Trafficway when she took the curve too fast, lost control and struck both the inside and outside concrete barriers, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. Passenger Magan Raggaerie, 18, of Lawrence, was transported to KUMC. Breanne Newell, 18, of Boulder, Colo., was also a passenger in the vehicle. All occupants were wearing seat belts. Raggaerie was the only person injured in the accident.

¢ No incident found on arrival, 6:25 p.m. Sunday, Wakarusa Drive and West 24th Street.
