Owners of one downtown business now own another one next door.

Kate and Rafael Gonzalez, owners of Kimbari at 822 Mass., have joined Ali Benremouga in opening Global Cafe, a new restaurant at 820 Mass.

Global Cafe serves breakfast, soups, Cuban-style pressed sandwiches and arepas. The cafe also features a salad bar, a full espresso and coffee menu and a variety of teas, chai and juices, most of them organic and fair trade.

The cafe – inspired by the owners’ American, Venezuelan, Spanish and Algerian backgrounds – is open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
