Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Three 21-year-old men, two from Lawrence and one from Minnesota, reported a theft of several items, including a Dell laptop computer and a T-Mobile Sidekick3, all worth $3,330. The incident occurred at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Ohio Street. Other items reported stolen included DVDs, books and video games.

¢ A man matching the description of a suspect who entered three Perry homes through unlocked windows July 19 and stole cash has been arrested by Perry police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The 36-year-old Topeka man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly attempted to steal from another Perry resident in the 200 block of Elm Street. The victim discovered the suspect in his kitchen when he arrived home from work about 4 a.m.

The suspect, who is on parole for burglary, entered the home through an unlocked window, said Perry Police Chief Ramon Gonzalez.
