Leavenworth The Lawrence High girls soccer team continued its offensive struggles Thursday, falling 2-0 to Leavenworth.
LHS (3-5-1 overall, 0-5-1 league) played the Pioneers even in the first half before allowing the hosts to score twice after the break.
"Our problem up front is we're just not putting the ball in the net," said LHS coach Matt Anderson. "We can't expect our defense to play 80 minutes with the ball coming back at them all the time."
LHS will return to action today in a 4 p.m. game at Shawnee Mission North. The contest was originally scheduled as a home game for the Lions, but was moved to the Indians' home field due to wet field conditions at the Youth Sports Inc. complex.
