Lawrence police are looking for a man who early Sunday robbed Taco John’s, 2309 Haskell Ave., while armed with a handgun.

The man, who was wearing a bag over his head, entered the business at 12:06 a.m. as two employees – a man and a woman – were closing the restaurant, according to a police report. The robber demanded money and then helped himself to the cash in the register before fleeing, police said.

The robber was described as a black man who was wearing blue sweatpants, a white T-shirt and a blue cloth bag over his head with holes cut for the eyes and nose. He was about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed up to 250 pounds.
