Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police and fire crews responded to a report that a car was engulfed in flames at 11:42 p.m. on Thursday night in the 1700 block of West 24th Street. A fire in a 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer was quickly put out, but not before $2,000 in damage was done to the vehicle. Police suspect the fire may have been set intentionally.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 1100 block of Mississippi: A resident reported that $2,500 in currency was stolen from an apartment between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Injury accidents

¢ A 47-year-old woman from Warrensburg, Mo., was taken to a hospital in Topeka on Friday when her 2001 Mazda hydroplaned and struck a sign post near milepost 182 on the Kansas Turnpike.

Janet Susan Hanson’s condition was not available on Friday night.
