Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police are looking for three men suspected of battery after a 33-year-old Lawrence man reported that one of the men punched him shortly before 2 p.m. in the 300 block of East 12th Street.

According to a police report, the victim was walking on Massachusetts Street when he heard derogatory remarks shouted at him by one of the three men in a car.

The victim responded with a gesture. He was then walking along the 300 block of East 12th Street when the same car pulled alongside him. One man, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds got out and punched him before leaving the scene, according to the report.

¢ A 61-year-old Jefferson City, Mo., man reported that 17 personal checks of his were forged and passed at Lawrence businesses in late March. The total amount of all the checks passed was $1,931. Many of the checks were passed on West Sixth Street, including at Dillons, Chipotle and Kwik Shop.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ In the 400 block of East North Street, sometime between April 4 and Monday, someone took a Gateway computer, a Dell flat-screen monitor and other items valued at $13,000.

¢ In the Lawrence Holidome parking lot, 200 McDonald Drive, two auto burglaries were reported early Monday. Suspects broke vehicle windows and took $2,200 in camera equipment from a 48-year-old Batesville, Tenn., man and items from the vehicle of a 55-year-old Chesterfield, Mo., woman.
