The Lawrence High softball team continued its season-opening slide, dropping a doubleheader to Olathe Northwest on Thursday at ODAC.

In Game One, the Lions never recovered from Northwest’s three-run third inning, falling 4-1. Sydney Seratte (0-5) took the loss.

Northwest didn’t waste so much time in Game Two, opening up a 4-0 advantage in the first two innings. Kasie Welborn took her first loss on the mound.

Hannah Somers went 3-for-6 at the plate during the doubleheader.

Lawrence High (0-6) will play host to Olathe South on Tuesday.
