law enforcement report

¢ The Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several incidents of vandalism, including damage to several mailboxes, that occurred over the weekend.

The sheriff’s office received seven reports of criminal damage to property Saturday. Five involved damage to mailboxes on the Bonner Springs roadways of 157th Terrace, Bradfort Court, 155th Street and Cedar Lane. There was also a report of damage to a lawnmower parked near the street on Knight Road in Basehor and damage to a yard light on Cedar Lane in Bonner Springs.

The sheriff’s office thinks the incidents may be related.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 3200 block of Iowa Street: A 26-year-old Lecompton woman reported welfare checks, a diaper bag, Easter eggs, candy, baseballs and a kite stolen from her vehicle between 11 a.m. and 11:28 a.m. Thursday.

¢ 1000 block of Eldridge Street: A 2,400-watt generator belonging to JMC Construction Inc. was reported stolen between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday.

¢ Motor vehicle accident, 2:43 a.m. Sunday, North 1200 and East 1200 roads.

¢ Motor vehicle accident, 8:07 a.m. Sunday, West 21st Street and Ousdahl Road.

¢ Outside rubbish fire, 3:54 p.m. Sunday, 1741 W. 20th St.

¢ Smoke detector activation, no fire, 2:05 a.m. Monday, 3201 Iowa.

¢ Motor vehicle accident, 6:20 a.m. Monday, Fifth and Maine streets.
