Law enforcement report

¢ A 40-year-old woman told police that an unidentified man approached her and took her wallet from her hand at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1031 Vt. She told police she did not see a weapon and that she was not threatened. Loss was estimated to be $41.50.

¢ A 2007 Eagle flatbed trailer valued at $7,000 was taken between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Monday from the west side of a Laird Noller Automotive lot in the 2800 block of Iowa Street.

¢ Lawrence police are investigating the alleged theft of a 2006 Pontiac G-6 valued at $16,000. It was taken between noon and 12:32 p.m. Monday from the 1300 block of New York Street. The vehicle, owned by a 69-year-old Garnett man, was found later in the 1800 block of West 26th Street.

¢ Leavenworth County sheriff's officers are investigating the theft of a television and several other items, valued at $1,875, taken Tuesday from the 22000 block of 153rd Street while the victim was at work.

Emergency calls

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical did not file a report Thursday.

Fire calls

¢ Firefighters with the Fairmount and Sherman township fire departments responded at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to a reported barn fire outside Bonner Springs. The barn, valued at $15,000, was a complete loss. Firefighters suspect a lightning strike caused the fire, according to a Leavenworth County sheriff's office report.

As a follow up to the many articles on the Yellowhouse's two year old alledged involvement in one of the largest fencing operations in the history of the LPD it is only fair that the JW continue with the events associated with the accusations from the LPD.
