Associate dean finalist for job at Nebraska

Barbara Romzek, associate dean of Kansas University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is a finalist to be dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, that university’s news service announced this week.

Romzek, a professor of public administration, is one of four finalists for the position and is scheduled to interview April 18-20 in Lincoln.

She came to KU in 1979 and served as KU’s interim dean of arts and sciences from 2005 until 2006.

Other finalists are David C. Manderscheid, chairman of mathematics at the University of Iowa; John M. Unsworth, dean of the graduate school of library and information science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; and Bruce M. Novak, a professor of chemistry at North Carolina State University.
