Course to teach computer safety

A six-day course next month at Kansas University will teach participants how to better protect their computers and their computer networks from hackers.

The Big 12 universities are teaming with the SANS Institute, based in Bethesda, Md., to present “Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling.”

The event will be April 23-28 on the KU campus. It will include a step-by-step process for responding to computer-security incidents, a detailed description of how hackers undermine systems and hands-on practice.
