Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police are investigating a report that an 18-year-old Lawrence man raped an 18-year-old female acquaintance between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Friday. Police were dispatched to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after the incident was reported about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

¢ The mother of an 11-year-old boy told Lawrence Police a 22-year-old acquaintance may have touched the boy inappropriately between December 2004 and July 2004 at the boy’s home. The mother reported the incident Thursday after her son told her about the alleged abuse. Police are investigating.

¢ A 28-year-old Lawrence woman reported to police that an unidentified man engaged in “lewd and lascivious behavior” in her presence about 4:45 p.m. Friday at Second and Elm Streets near a parking lot close to the levee in North Lawrence. She described the man as between 25 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with blond hair and wearing a blue T-shirt and black gym shorts. Lawrence Police ask anyone with information about the case to call the department at 832-7501.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ An employee of Cork and Barrel Wine and Spirits, 2000 W. 23rd St., reported that an unidentified man damaged a locker and removed $2,177 cash from inside it at the store between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a Lawrence Police report. An employee reported seeing the man – described as a white male about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and in his mid-20s – inside the business near the area of the theft.

Injury accidents

¢ One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance Sunday after a wreck at Trail Road and Boulder Street. According to a police report, John Holliday, 22, Olathe, was driving a 2002 Dodge pickup south on Boulder Street at 8:11 p.m. when he failed to yield to a westbound 1996 Chevrolet Astro van driven by Dale L. Mock, 58, Lawrence. A passenger in the van, Michael Jones, 58, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to a report. Holliday was cited for failing to yield, the report said.
