THIRD QUARTER

9:15 – Scott Webb 37 field goal. A 12-play, 60-yard drive went as many of KU’s drives did Saturday – through the air. Adam Barmann completed passes of 15, 31 and 19 yards to three different receivers. A Jon Cornish 16-yard touchdown run was called back because of a holding penalty, but Kansas did eventually score with Webb’s first field goal of the season. (Kansas 3, South Florida 0).

3:07 – Matt Grothe 7 run. Grothe and the Bulls chipped away at field position after Ean Randolph returned a kickoff to midfield. Grothe had a hand in most of the 13 plays, including the final scamper up the gut that resulted in six. Mike Benzer kick. (South Florida 7, Kansas 3).

FOURTH QUARTER

14:55 – Jon Cornish 2 run. Barmann led a seven-play, 79-yard drive that was prolonged with a 29-yard completion to Brian Murph on third down. A pass-interference penalty put Kansas inside the five, and on third down, Barmann optioned to Cornish, who hit the end zone and bulled over USF’s Mike Jenkins at the goal line. Scott Webb kick. (Kansas 10, South Florida 7).

9:01 – Scott Webb 42 field goal. Jon Cornish broke free on a 35-yard gain that accounted for a large chunk of KU’s drive. A nine-yard run on third down wasn’t enough to move the sticks, but did put the Jayhawks in Webb’s range for the junior’s second field goal of the night. (Kansas 13, South Florida 7).
