DeBiasse returns to LHS football
Nick DeBiasse, one of only a handful of returning starters on Lawrence High’s football team, is expected to make his season debut Friday night.
DeBiasse, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound senior, missed the Lions’ first two games after undergoing knee cartilage surgery last month.
“He’ll play a little bit,” Lawrence High coach Dirk Wedd said. “He’s not in football shape, but he’s been cleared to play.”
The Lions (0-2) will be seeking their first victory when they travel Friday night to Shawnee Mission South (0-2).
Wedd said he would continue to use DeBiasse at linebacker, but plans to switch him to tight end on offense.
“He won’t get a lot of snaps,” Wedd said, “but getting him back will be a big help.”
