Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police are investigating a report that two people robbed and battered a female cab driver early Tuesday.

According to police, the cab driver picked up the couple – a male and female – around 3 a.m. in the 500 block of Fireside Drive. As the cab was leaving, the female passenger supposedly told the driver to turn around because she forgot something at the house.

When the cab got back to the house, the woman allegedly grabbed the driver, bit her and had the man hold her down while she snatched a bag full of money. Police are seeking a 30-year-old Lawrence woman as a person of interest.

¢ Lawrence Police were looking into claims that two women beat and robbed a 21-year-old Lawrence woman early Sunday outside Liquid Bar, 804 W. 24th St.

According to police, the two female suspects were in the car with the alleged victim and a friend getting ready to leave the bar when the beating occurred. The victim said she lost items valued at $340. Police are looking for three women related to this incident.

¢ Gero and Levi, the Douglas County Sheriff Department’s German shepherds, were both used Monday. Gero sniffed for drugs in the 1900 block of Iowa Street, and Levi searched for a person who fled the scene of an accident. Gero found drugs, but Levi caught the wrong scent and couldn’t find the person.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 1400 block of Lawrence Avenue: A 22-year-old Lawrence man reported that between 8:45 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Sunday, $1,724 in items were stolen from his 2000 GMC Yukon.

¢ 3700 block of Westland Place: A 24-year-old Lawrence man reported that between 7 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Sunday, someone damaged the windows of his Chevrolet. Damaged was listed at $1,500.
