Police investigate fatal shooting near wedding

? Police are investigating a deadly shooting in the parking lot of the Mid-America All-Indian Center while hundreds of people celebrated a wedding inside.

One person was killed and two others were critically wounded in Saturday night’s shooting.

Wichita police Sgt. Jim Merrick said several shots were fired after an altercation in the parking lot. One witness said she heard at least 10 shots.

Police have offered few details about the investigation, including the names of the victims. The Wichita Eagle reported Monday that dispatchers and officers said over police radios Saturday that gang members might have been involved.

Newlywed Janee Vongsay said none of her relatives or friends was shot.
