New guide to snakes in Kansas available

"A Pocket Guide to Kansas Snakes," by Joseph Collins and Suzanne Collins, is now available. The guide details 38 kinds of snakes found across the state.

Joseph Collins is a Kansas University adjunct herpetologist and director of the Center for North American Herpetology. Suzanne Collins, a photographer, is retired from KU's School of Education.

The guide includes sections on snake size, range in Kansas, description and habits.
