Kansas City, Mo. ? A telephone tip led police to the body of a baby, buried in a shallow grave near a backyard shed.

The tip to the anti-crime TIPS Hotline came in Thursday, police Capt. Rich Lockhart said. The infant’s body was found later that day, behind a home in east Kansas City.

Lockhart said Friday that the male fetus was stillborn at about five months gestation.

The investigation was continuing, Lockhart said.
