LHS soccer squad falls to SM South in finale
Overland Park ? The Lawrence High soccer team got it done on defense – especially in the second half – but couldn’t make its mark on the scoreboard in a 2-0 loss to Shawnee Mission South on Thursday.
The Raiders scored both their goals in the first half.
“We controlled the ball in the second half,” LHS coach David Platt said. “We just couldn’t finish our chances.”
Platt said goalkeeper Colin Flanders did an “outstanding” job protecting the net. Platt also cited Kyle Craig and Nathan Roush for solid play.
“We’re heading into regionals with some confidence,” Platt said.
The Lions, who finished the regular season with a 3-11-2 record, will discover their regional draw later this week.
