Kansas University has nominated five students to compete for the Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell scholarships, which provide tuition and expenses for study in Great Britain or Ireland.

The students will be honored at a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in Nunemaker Center, 1506 Engel Road.

The nominees: Lucas Todd Thompson, a Lawrence senior nominated for the Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell scholarships; Terrence Gordon Peterson, an Overland Park senior nominated for the Marshall and Mitchell scholarships; Trisha Renee Shrum, a spring 2006 graduate from Olathe nominated for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships; Michelle Thi Tran, a Derby senior nominated for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships; and Anne Isabel McEnroe, a Lawrence senior nominated for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships.
