Shooter found guilty of killing two in rampage

? A man who shot at people because they were wearing blue and said he would take over the world was found guilty of killing two women during his rampage in 2004.

Givon O. Clemons, 27, was found guilty by a Jackson County judge Monday of 12 counts, including two first-degree murders and six assaults. The only possible sentence for each murder is life without parole.

His defense attorney contended Clemons was suffering from PCP-induced psychosis during the April 11, 2004, shooting spree and was guilty only of involuntary manslaughter.

Police gave this account of Clemons’ crimes: They began when Clemons shot at a woman on Interstate 70 because she was wearing blue. A bullet lodged in her car, but she was not hurt.

Clemons then drove to a 7-Eleven store and gunned down Latrece McCloud, 31, who was wearing bright blue clothes. He shot her four times, killing her, and left with the cash register drawer.

He then went to the home of Billie West, 48. When she refused to open the door, Clemons fired through the door, killing West.
