A liquor store and hardware store in Tonganoxie were burglarized early Thursday morning.

Police say someone smashed the front door at Do It Best Hardware, 423 E. Fourth St., about 4 a.m. and stole four weed trimmers from inside.

About 4:50 a.m., an alarm sounded at JR’s Liquors, 107 E. Third St., where someone had smashed the front door and stolen bottles of whiskey and a cash register drawer.

Police believe the two break-ins are related but didn’t have any suspects as of Thursday afternoon.
