KU Endowment Association’s board of trustees elected two new members at its meeting Friday.

Charles Heath graduated from Kansas University in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and in 1966 with a master’s in business administration. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Lawrence. He is retired from Employers Reinsurance Corp. in Overland Park, where he was vice president. He is a trustee and former chair of Baker University’s Board of Trustees. The Heaths are life members of the Alumni Association and The Chancellors Club and members of the Elizabeth M. Watkins Society. In 2004, the Heaths funded a charitable remainder trust to create the Charles E. Heath and Kathleen M. Heath Endowment Fund and to support the Delta Upsilon Lloyd Houston Scholarship. They also make annual gifts to the Williams Fund.

The other new member, Tom Kivisto, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from KU in 1974. He and his wife, Julie Lienhard Kivisto, a KU alumna, live in Tulsa, Okla. He is chairman, president and CEO of SemGroup LP in Tulsa. Kivisto was a basketball letterman and coached women’s tennis in 1977. He is a past member of the Alumni Association’s National Nominating Committee. The Kivistos are life members of The Chancellors Club. They have pledged $12 million for the Anderson Family Football Complex and support other athletics projects and programs.

The trustees on Friday also changed several executive committee positions. Kurt Watson assumed the chairman’s seat. Deanell Tacha went from being an at-large member to a vice chair. And Frank Becker moved from chair to past chair.
