Investigative reporter to discuss tax system

New York Times investigative reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner David Cay Johnston, known for exposing inequities in the U.S. tax code, will give a lecture at 6 p.m. Sunday at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union on Kansas University’s campus. The event is free, and tickets are not required.

Johnston’s book, “Perfectly Legal: The Covert Campaign to Rig Our Tax System to Benefit the Super Rich – and Cheat Everybody Else,” was named Investigative Book of the Year by Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc.

Johnston also will meet with students in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The lecture is sponsored by the KU School of Business.
