Cultural historian to deliver lecture

David Nirenberg, professor of history and romance languages and literatures at Johns Hopkins University, will deliver a lecture titled “Which is the merchant here and which the Jew? Being Jewish in Shakespeare’s Venice” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union on Kansas University’s campus.

Nirenberg is a cultural historian of medieval and early modern Europe.

The event, co-sponsored by KU Kansas Jewish Studies and the Ahmanson-Murphy Distinguished Chair of Medieval History, is free and open to the public.
