Kansas teens being sought in crime spree

? Two youth-shelter runaways are being sought for a string of crimes in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

The 16-year-old Kansas boys – one from Hutchinson and the other from the Turon area – are accused of more than a half-dozen crimes from stealing vehicles and committing burglaries to fleeing authorities. Reno County sheriff’s officials think the teens returned to Kansas after eluding Texas and Oklahoma officers early in the week.

The boys were among five teens who ran away from the Bob Johnson Youth Shelter last week. The other runaways – two boys and a girl – were found in Texas and are back in custody.

Investigators say the teens still on the run are likely driving a stolen, red Dodge pickup truck with Oklahoma plates.

The other vehicles reported stolen include a pickup belonging to the city of Groesbeck, Texas, with city logos on its doors.
