Bond makes his bow

London – The new blond Bond – sandy-haired Daniel Craig – met his public as “Casino Royale” had its world premiere in London.

Queen Elizabeth II, Elton John and Sharon Osbourne were among those in the audience at Leicester Square on Tuesday as Craig made his screen debut as the suave secret agent OO7.

Craig, 38, was every inch a James Bond as he walked the red carpet in a tuxedo and black tie while hundreds of fans called his name.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he said. “It’s just incredible.”

“Casino Royale,” the 21st James Bond film and the grittiest to date, opens in Britain and North America on Friday.

Craig has already signed up for the 22nd Bond film, due for release in November 2008.

Manly moves

Dallas – Everyone’s talking about Emmitt Smith these days. But they aren’t discussing how the NFL career leading rusher outmaneuvered linebackers on the field.

The chatter is about how Smith’s hip-swaying and smooth glides on the dance floor have gotten him to this week’s finale on the ABC celebrity dance contest, “Dancing With the Stars.”

There’s no doubt many would be watching the showdown between Smith and partner Cheryl Burke and actor Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff on Tuesday night and tonight. Sports bars and dance studios throughout North Texas have held “Emmitt watching parties” that show the appeal has cut across cultural and class lines.

The buzz has even motivated more men to take up dancing, said Toni Musgrow, 38, who manages IDance2 studio in Plano, where Smith and Burke practiced. “As one male customer told me just the other day: ‘Emmitt makes dancing look manly.'”

Rumors shot down

“Desperate Housewives” sexpot Eva Longoria says she will not – absolutely not – star in a so-called “lesbian movie” as the lover of Beyonce Knowles.

“Stop the madness,” Longoria says to People about widely published rumors she’s set to star in “Tipping the Velvet,” a lesbian love story by novelist Sarah Waters.

Seems Knowles feels she’s also been had: Her rep said, “This is not happening. We’ve never heard of this.”

Oprah not invited

Reports are coming in that Tom Cruise has not invited Oprah Winfrey to his wedding Saturday to Katie Holmes.

But, as always, Oprah is diplomatic: “They had a limited number of people that they could invite,” Winfrey told “Extra.”

“I was not one of the invitees. That’s fine. I don’t get invited to everyone’s wedding . . . But I wish them the best.”
