Law Enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police arrested a 44-year-old Lawrence man Saturday afternoon on suspicion of endangering a child and driving on a suspended license.

Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Monroe said officers were called to a scene north of 23rd and Iowa streets Saturday afternoon when a woman said her ex-common-law husband was following her in a vehicle. She feared he was trying to run her off the road, Monroe said.

The two had an argument before the incident, Monroe said. When police found the suspect, he ran away in a neighborhood south of Lawrence High School. He was later arrested and booked into jail on the two charges, Monroe said. Three children were inside the car when he was alleged to have followed the woman, Monroe said.

¢ Police were searching for a middle-aged man who put on a mask Friday night and tried to obtain medicine without a prescription from the pharmacy at Walgreens, 3421 W. Sixth St. The man did not brandish a weapon, said Sgt. Susan Hadl, a police spokeswoman.

The man left without taking anything from the store or hurting anyone, and officers were searching for the man, described as wearing a black leather jacket Friday night, Hadl said.
