Firefighters battle blaze at Eudora trailer home
Eudora firefighters chopped into the walls of a burning trailer home to extinguish the blaze Sunday night. No one was injured.
Firefighters told emergency dispatchers that everyone safely made it out of the home at 1029 Maple St.
Firefighters reported the fire under control at 9:45 p.m. after the original call came in before 7:30 p.m.
City of Eudora, Eudora Township and Wakarusa Township firefighters worked to extinguish a couple of hot spots on the west side of the home into the night. They opened the exterior walls with chain saws and axes to gain access to the fire with hoses.
Firefighters still were working on the scene late Sunday.
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical sent a medical crew to stand by and provide equipment to assist firefighters, said Doug Green, a battalion chief.
