Law enforcement report
¢ Lawrence Police issued 39 speeding tickets, 17 tickets for moving violations, 15 seat-belt violation tickets and three tickets for improper child car seats in a citywide saturation patrol during the weekend.
Police made one arrest for drunken driving and three arrests for other violations. The patrol ran from 5 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ Someone burglarized a city-owned building at 1900 Moodie Road and stole $232 in cash, plus a pruner and chain saw valued at $600. The suspect also caused an estimated $950 in damage to doors, a safe door and a window. It happened between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday.
¢ Police are investigating a burglary during the weekend at Evans Import Service, 735 E. 22nd St. Police said it appeared a burglar crashed into a garage door, pushing it open, and forced open an office door inside. Tools worth nearly $5,000 were stolen.
