Law enforcement report

Injury accident

¢ A Eudora woman was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon near Naismith Drive and 22nd Street.

About 4 p.m., Connie Howell, 59, Eudora, attempted to turn left from the right northbound lane on Naismith Drive, and her vehicle collided with a vehicle in the left northbound lane, Lawrence Police Capt. Ray Urbanek said.

A Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical crew transported Howell to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with a possible injury. A nursing supervisor said she had been treated and released. Urbanek said an officer cited Howell for turning left from the right lane.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 48-year-old Lecompton man told police he saw someone trying to burglarize his home April 29 in the 400 block of East Seventh Street.

The man said he was coming home about 9:45 a.m. when he saw an older-model minivan in the driveway. An unknown person came from the back of the home and got in the van, and it drove away. He later saw the bedroom window in the rear of his home had been broken and a hammer was lying inside, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Nothing was stolen from the home.

¢ A 55-year-old man told police someone tried to enter his home late Tuesday in the 700 block of North Seventh Street. The man said he and his wife were sleeping when a home alarm went off. He got up and realized a door of the home had been left unlocked and was ajar. Nothing was taken.
