Medicine thief gets 10-year sentence

? A man who grabbed all the pseudoephedrine off a Wal-Mart pharmacy shelf in Goodland and ran out the door was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison.

Jason Hopkins, 32, was arrested March 26, 2005, in Goodland with 68 boxes and 1,187 pills of pseudoephedrine, said U.S. Atty. Eric Melgren.

Hopkins pleaded guilty in February to one count of possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

After he ran out of the Wal-Mart, he got into a car with co-defendant Tresha Carter. They were stopped by officers.

Carter pleaded guilty to the same charge as Hopkins. She will be sentenced May 15.
