Lawrence High boys win Seaman Invite

Lawrence High’s boys track team won the 16-team Seaman Invitational, while the girls placed third Monday at Seaman’s track. The Free State High girls placed second and the boys third overall.

The LHS girls 1,600 relay team of Jennifer Taylor, Courtney Barber, Sue Schwartz and Kristina Taylor placed first in a meet record 3:59.46. Amy Magnuson had the Lions’ other first, winning the triple jump in 37-2. Free State girls firsts were snared by Alysha Valencia (1,600, 4:59.9), Tricia Dunham (javelin, 126-5) and Emma Brooke (high jump, 5-2).

FSHS boys firsts were snared by Austin Winn (100, 10.69); Keron Toussaint (400, 49.48) and the 400 relay team of Winn, Ryan Murphy, Brian Murphy and Christian Ballard (42.6).

Lion boys firsts were snared by Scott Penny (shot put, 53-31â4); Brian Houle (javelin, 172-6); Kevin Logan (high jump, 6-4) and Brendan Halpin (pole vault, 13-6).
