$1,200 in cigarettes are stolen from shop
Employees at Tobacco Express, 2104 W. 25th St., are offering a $2,000 reward for help finding a man they say stole Marlboro cigarettes valued at $1,200 Monday.
Store manager Kathy Brown said the man walked in the store twice Monday, eventually telling a clerk he wanted to “stock up” on smokes and asked for all the boxes of Marlboros in the store.
While the clerk asked Brown if the man could get a discount for buying so many, he turned and left the store, smokes in tow. Brown said he left on foot before hopping in a car and driving off. Brown said a blond woman was driving the car.
She described the man as a 30-year-old black male in a white jersey, jeans and a white stocking cap. Anyone with information is asked to call 843-TIPS, an anonymous tips line.
