Confrontation over shooting brings arrest

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers arrested a man during the weekend suspected of threatening two juveniles who were shooting guns near his property.

Deputies said two juveniles were shooting at targets near the 800 section of North 1928 Road around 12:30 p.m. Sunday when some of the pellets from their guns went onto the suspect’s land. The two juveniles were on a relative’s property and were not trespassing, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies said the neighbor, identified as Timothy C. Boettger, 40, grew upset, got a handgun, confronted the boys and took one of their shotguns. Boettger was later arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, theft and making a criminal threat.
