Law enforcement report

¢ Police are investigating an 18-year-old Lawrence woman’s report that a 29-year-old male suspect raped her between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Monday at a west-side apartment complex.

Injury accident

¢ The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday identified a man injured in a car-deer accident during the weekend as Lonnie Smith, 43, of Ottawa.

Smith was driving a Ford Escort west on North 175 Road near East 650 Road about 9 p.m. Saturday when he swerved to avoid a deer and struck a guardrail, Lt. Kari Wempe said. He was flown by air ambulance to University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.

An update on his condition was not available Tuesday.

Burglaries, thefts reported

¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence man reported $1,035 in property, including DVDs and video-game equipment, stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday from the 200 block of Michigan Street.

¢ A 29-year-old McLouth man had his Mercury Sable stolen between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Jan. 10 from the 1600 block of West 23rd Street, according to a report. It was valued at $2,600.

¢ A 39-year-old Eudora man reported his $1,500 Dell laptop computer stolen from the city at large between 4:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday.
