Two Lawrence residents suffered injuries this morning in a one-car accident this morning on Interstate 70 between Lawrence and Kansas City.

David E. Megee, 21, who was a passenger, was transported by ambulance to Providence Medical Center following the accident, which happened about 7 a.m. on an icy spot about 12 miles east of Lawrence, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority accident report. State troopers reported that the car hit an icy spot, lost control and hit a guardrail.

Another passenger, Elizabeth A. Kliewer, 22, Lawrence, sustained minor injuries but will seek her own treatment, the report said.

The driver, Melissa A. Travis, 23, also of Lawrence, was not injured, the report said.
