Lawrence Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Domino's pizza-delivery driver early Monday morning in northwest Lawrence.

Police were dispatched shortly before 1 a.m. to Graystone Apartments, 2500 W. Sixth St., to meet with the driver, a 20-year-old Lawrence man. He told police he was delivering three pizzas to an apartment at the complex when he was approached from behind and told to turn over his money.

The victim told police he turned around, and a man pointed a gun at his face. He gave the man about $20. The suspect fled on foot.

He described the suspect as a black male between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, in his mid-20s, with a dark "hoodie" sweatshirt and item covering his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lawrence Police at 832-7503 or the Crime Stoppers hot line at 843-TIPS.

What is this town coming to??? If the Lawrence police didn't spend so much time parked on west 6th street, trying to cop out 90-some dollars from a speeding ticket, and instead roamed around the neighborhoods to ensure safety, these types of things might be averted. All you really need to do is show your car every once in a while, and people will get the message. Graystone apartments are on the same street and only a few miles east of the construction zone.
