Topeka ? Lawrence High’s Alex Boyer qualified for the consolation finals at the state swim meet in the 200-yard freestyle and 500 freestyle, and a relay team from both Free State and Lawrence High reached consolation finals during preliminaries Friday at the state meet.

Boyer was ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:03.17) and 13th in the 200 freestyle (1:51.82) to qualify for today’s consolation finals.

The Free State 200 freestyle relay team of Spencer Flannigan, Julian Spangler, Chris Armstrong and Brian Hatesohl advanced by placing 14th in 1:34.28.

And Lawrence High’s 400 freestyle relay team of Zach Henderson, Marcus Barnoskie, Zach Stites and Boyer advanced by placing 15th in 3:33.51.
