Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police seized pills, drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana on Thursday afternoon from a townhome at 3000 Havrone Way. No arrests had been made as of Monday, but two 20-year-old males are considered suspects.

¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence man was stabbed early Sunday morning after a fight outside the Cross Town Tavern, 1910 Haskell Ave., according to a police report. The man told police he was walking out of the bar around 1:30 a.m. and became caught up in a fight between two men he didn't know.

He went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where employees called police. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, but police would not release where on the body he was stabbed.

¢ Graffiti sprayed on cars and Dumpsters at Aspen West apartments, 2900 Bob Billings Parkway, caused more than $2,100 in damage. It appeared sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to a police report.

¢ A city employee is suspected of stealing $107 from the city. The incident happened in May 2004 and was reported later by city finance staff. Lawrence Police released a report of the incident on Monday.

City finance director Ed Mullins said he believed the theft was from the Parks & Recreation department. The suspect is a 23-year-old female, but as of Monday no charges had been filed.

Injury accidents

¢ Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a one-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning on Kansas Highway 10 that injured an Independence, Mo., woman.

Amanda Howerton, 24, was driving east on K-10 near milepost seven where her Geo ran off the road and crashed into the tree line about 60 yards south of the highway, according to a Douglas County Sheriff's report. A passerby reported seeing the car.

She was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital and later transported to a Kansas City hospital. An update on her condition was not available Monday.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ An 83-year-old resident of Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, 4851 Harvard Road, reported having a .85-carat diamond ring valued at $6,000 stolen between 2:30 p.m. Feb. 1 and 6 a.m. Feb. 2.

¢ A laptop computer, $150 cash and compact discs were stolen between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the 2000 block of West 27th Terrace.
