KU names new law dean

Kansas University has chosen Gail B. Agrawal, interim dean of the University of North Carolina School of Law, to lead KU’s law school.

Agrawal will fill the post vacated by Steve McAllister who stepped down in August.

Agrawal bested three other candidates, including Kansas Board of Regents President Reginald Robinson, for the top seat.

The professor has been at UNC since 1997, serving in various posts, including associate dean for academic affairs and senior associate dean.

She also worked at the University of Michigan Law School, Tulane Law School, Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Aetna, Inc., and Monroe & Lemann, a New Orleans firm.

Agrawal received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of New Orleans, a master’s degree from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a Juris Doctor from Tulane School of Law.
