Law enforcement report

¢ A Douglas County sheriff officer’s vehicle was struck Thursday night when a driver failed to yield at a four-way stop at 31st and Louisiana streets, said Lawrence police spokesman Sgt. Randy Roberts.

A 31-year-old man was driving a 1993 Toyota Corolla west on 31st Street when his car struck the sheriff deputy’s 2005 Crown Victoria, which was headed north on Louisiana Street and already in the intersection, Roberts said.

A passenger in the Corolla bumped her head on the car’s rear-view mirror, but she was not transported from the scene. The sheriff’s vehicle was towed away, and police cited the driver of the Corolla for failing to yield at a stop sign, Roberts said.
