Law enforcement report

¢ Officials from Catholic Charities, 500 block of Fireside Drive, reported that someone broke into their offices Monday night or Tuesday morning and caused $1,550 in damage to wooden doors, a door frame, filing cabinet and a lockbox.

Internal auditors will audit the agency to see if anything else, including cash, was stolen.

¢ Police are investigating a report that someone damaged the plastic playground slide at Sunflower School, 2521 Inverness Drive.

A school official Monday found two large holes and a crack in the slide, which was valued at $1,000.

A window at the school was damaged at the same time, police said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 100 block of Comfort Court: Police are investigating a report that someone broke a window and stole a paint sprayer valued at $700 from a Habitat for Humanity home under construction between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Injury accidents

¢ A 25-year-old Topeka man broke his arm Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle, rollover wreck near the Douglas-Shawnee County line on westbound Interstate 70.

Danny D. Calsing was driving a 2005 Chevrolet about 4:53 p.m., according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, when he veered left, struck a signpost, overcorrected and went across both lanes into the construction median. The vehicle rolled twice and came to rest on its wheels, according to a report.

He was wearing a seat belt.

He was flown by air ambulance to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka.

¢ Firefighters responded about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a possible fire at Penny Annie’s Sweet Shoppe, 845 Mass. Burned popcorn had set off the smoke alarm, according to an emergency dispatcher.
